ETFE (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene copolymer) is a melt processable fluoroplastic that can be extruded and cast into shape like thermoplastic materials. The full English name is Ethyl tetrafluoroethylene copolymer, usually abbreviated as ETFE. The thickness of ETFE film material is usually less than 0.2mm, making it a highly transparent film material. In recent years, the domestic photovoltaic cell industry has begun to use flexible photovoltaic cell packaging materials to get rid of glass.
The characteristics of ETFE film:
(1) Resistance to temperature changes, able to be directly exposed to temperatures between -200 ℃ and 150 ℃;
(2) The transmittance of ETFE film can reach up to 95%.
(3) The unique anti adhesion surface makes it highly resistant to dirt and easy to clean. Usually, rainwater can remove the main dirt; Compared to glass, it has higher self-cleaning properties.
(4) The ETFE membrane is completely recyclable and can be reused to produce new membrane materials, or other ETFE products can be produced after separating impurities.
(5) Corrosion resistance and strong adhesion to metals
(6) The service life of ETFE film is at least 25-35 years
(7) ETFE film can not only be used as a building film, but recently, the domestic photovoltaic cell industry has begun to use it as a flexible packaging material for photovoltaic cells, breaking away from tempered glass and making components composed of five layers: upper layer ETFE film, EVA layer, cell layer, EVA layer, and lower layer ETFE. The thickness of the battery cells is only less than 1mm, and due to being entirely made of plastic, their weight is only 1KG/square meter, truly achieving flexibility and portability.
